The Gretsch G5191LH is a classic hollow-body guitar with a punk-rock legacy. This is the signature model of Tim Armstrong - the founder of the legendary band, Rancid. Don't be fooled by the classic fifties aesthetics because this six-string has been built for rough work. A pair of Gretsch Black Top Filter'Tron humbucker pickups deliver powerful and dynamic sound to your amplifier, ranging from clear cleans to heavy, ripping distortion. And, to really polish off the signature look, the Gretsch G5191 comes dipped in a tough matte black lacquer finish that perfectly frames the chic gold-plated hardware. As the icing on the alt-punk-cake, Tim Armstrong's signature has been stamped on the truss rod cover. This is the left-handed edition.

The full-sized hollow body has been made from maple, ensuring tight and clear acoustic tone, while two thick internal tone bars boost the sonic power and body. The single, deep cutaway grants easy access the highest of the twenty-two frets, while the slim maple neck ensures maximum playing comfort and has been topped with a rosewood fretboard that features a zero fret, so you're assured of clean open strings, while the graphite nut guarantees excellent sustain. A set of block inlays, the multi-ply body, neck and headstock binding bring all the style points, while the two f-holes have been outlined in cream binding to really complete the deal.

Hardware & Electronics

Two Black Top Filter'Tron pickups, each with a dedicated volume and tone control pot form the amplified core, while a separate master volume pot and a three-way pickup switch are supplied for varying the output at will. The lower output of the Filter'Tron humbuckers has been calibrated specifically to filter out any of the buzz and hum that's associated with a set of single-coils, so you get the warmth and sustain of a humbucker alongside the characteristic sparkle and bite of a single-coil. The G5191LH has been finished with a fully adjustable Adjust-O-Matic bridge, a harp-style floating tailpiece and a set of Grover Sta-Tite machine heads that combine to guarantee solid tuning stability.
